When we’re not fighting fires, we fight the cold.

Keeping area kids warm during Milwaukee’s tough winters is just one more way that the hard-working men and women of the Milwaukee Fire Department serve their community every day.

Working with Milwaukee Public Schools to determine the areas of greatest need, we identify specific schools that do not currently receive other special funding or donations from similar initiatives and work with them to provide warm coats for the winter season.

Now in our eighth year of this initiative, we’re proud to say we have successfully provided 34,000 new coats to 69 elementary schools to date—a measurable result of our commitment to making Milwaukee a safer, more enjoyable place to live.
